(Oct. 2, 2019) Lifeblue was recently named a Best For The World honoree in the worker impact category by B Lab, the global nonprofit that certifies and supports B Corporations.
The honor means we rank in the top 10 percent of all B Corps for how we treat our team members. We earned our B Corp Certification last year, joining a movement of companies that balance purpose over profit, including Patagonia and TOMS. B Corps meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability.
Today there are 3,000 Certified B Corporations across 64 countries and 150 industries, unified by one common goal: to redefine success in business.
“Being named to this thoughtful group less than a year after becoming a Certified B Corp, is a true honor,” Lifeblue CEO Nicki Purcell said. “It’s a testament to Lifeblue’s relationship-driven nature. We believe that creating impact for our clients and our community starts internally by fostering a positive, flexible environment, so our team members can flourish at work and outside of it.”
This recognition comes on the heels of being named one of the Top 100 Best Places to Work in North Texas by the Dallas Business Journal and one of 20 amazing tech companies hiring in Dallas by Indeed.
We believe all of this stems from our culture of putting people first, starting with the benefits and perks that we offer employees, including a results-only work environment, generous paid maternity and paternity leave, and robust professional development budgets for each person.
It also extends to our sleek new office, where we build meaningful connections every day. It’s where we host our weekly lunch and learns, collaborate with clients on our breezy balcony, and open our doors for tech meetups.
“Day in and day out, we’re intentional about making Lifeblue an organization that people enjoy being a part of,” Director of Culture Caitlin Studley said. “Providing co-workers with the tools and support they need to lead well-rounded lives is ingrained in who we are. I’m proud that our efforts are being recognized locally and now globally within the B Corp ecosystem.”
Honorees were determined through the B Impact Assessment, part of the certification process that evaluates the overall positive impact of the company.
“We’re incredibly proud of this year’s Best For The World honorees,” said Anthea Kelsick, Chief Marketing Officer of B Lab. “These inspiring companies represent the kinds of business models and impact-driven business strategies that are building a new economy – one that is inclusive, regenerative, and delivers value to all stakeholders, not just shareholders. To that end, B Corps like Lifeblue are redefining capitalism and showing that it actually can work for everyone.”
Lifeblue’s mission is to help companies grow their social, cultural or economic impact on the world. Among the 13-year-old company’s clients are Heifer International, the Dallas Arboretum, Voly.org and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.
