Women Who Code Meetup: Tips for Mastering Your Job Search & Making the Web Accessible

by Caitlin

Last month we had the pleasure of hosting the local Women Who Code chapter at our offices for one of their many monthly Meetup events. We even had the additional pleasure of offering up two lightning talks (a term I apparently am not very good at adhering to), on both job searching and accessibility on the web.

We kicked off with some introductions, so everyone could get to know each other a little better. Turns out several of the attendees are currently on the hunt for jobs, so if you're hiring, be sure to reach out to the local chapter! My colleague Nicole Oakes and I hosted our talks, and we wrapped the night up by raffling off some Lifeblue swag along with a few books, including the WWC book club pick of the month, Brotopia: Breaking Up the Boys' Club of Silicon Valley, as well as a Lifeblue favorite, Radical Candor, and Cracking The Coding Interview

One of the WWC members, Tiffany Thompson, was kind enough to film both of the talks for us and post them to the Women Who Code DFW Youtube Channel (thanks Tiffany!), so you can check them out below. We hope you might find some of the information useful, and we hope to partner with WWC for additional talks and workshops in the future.
